What is Wireless access point (AP)?
Wireless access point (AP) is a device that allows wireless devices to connect to a wired network using Wi-Fi, or related standards. The AP usually connects to a router (via a wired network) as a standalone device, but it can also be an integral component of the router itself.

Wall embedded wireless AP(also called In wall wireless AP), designed for hotels, hospitals, high-end residential, clubs and other public places. Built-in IEEE 802.11b/g/n wireless module , supports up to 150Mbps transfer rate, supports a variety of encryption mechanism that can effectively protect the safety data link transmission.

In this post, FOT Blog will show you the 3 simple steps to install Wall Embedded Wireless AP(Access Point),all in less than 5 minutes.
Step.1 prepare the materials
First, you need to prepare the materials and get the necessary equipment for installation. The “Wall Embedded Wireless AP package” you get from FOT looks like this. In the package, the following items should be included:
- One Wall Embeded Wireless AP;
- A quick installation guide;
- A CD
- One Telephone Cable; (optional)
- One Ethernet Cable; (optional)
You will also need a cross-head screw driver to install the Wall Embedded Wireless AP(Access Point).Once you gotten everything ready, you should also pre-assemble the bracket with the Wall Embedded Wireless AP before moving onto the next step.Are you finished? Now let us move on.
Step.2 Unmount the current face plate.
In this step we will unmount the face plate. The current face plate can be a power supply, or in our case, a phone jack. You will first need to unplug the phone cable and unscrew the face plate. Once you have unscrewed the face plate, take it out.Inside the small chamber you will find phone cable and an Internet cable. It is also possible you will see power line only, and you will need to make your own cable.
Step.3 Mount the Wall Embedded Wireless AP
Now let’s move on to installing the Wall Embedded Wireless AP.Remember you have pre-assemble the bracket with the Wall Embedded Wireless AP(Access Point) but you don’t know why? Well that is because the depth of the chamber is different, so FOT has made the unit adjustable. Here you can check the depth of the chamber and screw in the top and bottom nails. Once the nails are secured, you can plug-in the phone and Internet cable in the back.
Next, screw in the left and right nails to secure the Wall Embeded Wireless AP in place.Now put the faceplate back and you are done.
